The mkB Retrospective | Part 3 - nine Lives Single

Added by Joseph Monday 12th of April 2010

Our album had taken on many different forms over the years. In truth we had enough material to release several albums.

In that time our label had successfully stalled our release date time and time again and we were beginning to see the terror in their eyes. It had become obvious that they had bought us because Tommy Boy records wanted us, and that was the long and short of it. They had no idea what to do with us and were beginning to question why they had invested so much money in a bizarre, avante-garde, quip-hop troop.
In the meantime we were taking full advantage of our various advances and the label were receiving bills for random pieces of equipment and airfares for, um business related trips.

In the summer of 2006 we said "enough" and cemented the album. The label wanted us to release the single in precursor to the album so we put this together.
It was to become the first of our unreleased material and the catalyst to force our label to show their cards.
